Forbes just released their list of top 5 Hip Hop's Wealthiest artist, and I wasn't surprised that Puff Daddy was at the top of the list. His investment in a business that brings on residual income (Revolt TV) pushed him further from the rest. I have always wondered why Hip Hop moguls never looked into business that bring in Passive or residual income; it really is the sweetest way to get money. Endorsement deals can get you big money, but the people you are endorsing with your brand get the lion share of the money you help bring in. So, I am happy with Puffy's new move, and I am also happy with Dre's Beats By Dre headphones...now, which of them do you think will get to a billion first?
Check out the list of top five Hip Hop's Wealthiest artist below.
5. 50 Cent- $140 million
4. Baby- $160 million
3. Jay Z- $520 million
2. Dr. Dre- $550 million
1. Puff Daddy (Diddy)- $700 million
Puffy's increase from last year was a whooping $120 million; he was worth $580 last year. I see Puff at $900 million next year, and a billion by 2016.
